Insights
Insights are AI-extracted patterns from your customer feedback. They group related conversations and reviews into actionable items with priorities and categories.
How insights are created
When new conversations arrive or reviews are synced, ReleaseTag's AI automatically analyzes the content. The AI may:
- Create a new insight when it identifies a distinct bug, feature request, or piece of feedback
- Update an existing insight when new information adds context to a known issue
- Link conversations and reviews to existing insights when the topics match
All changes include a reason (e.g. "AI analysis") and are tracked in the insight's version history for full auditability.
Categories
Every insight is assigned one of three categories:
- Bug — Something is broken or not working as expected
- Feature Request — A customer is asking for new functionality
- Feedback — General feedback, suggestions, or praise
Priorities
Insights are assigned a priority level:
- Urgent — Critical issues affecting many users
- High — Important issues that should be addressed soon
- Medium — Moderate issues or common requests
- Low — Minor issues or nice-to-have improvements
Priority is determined by AI based on factors like how many customers are affected, the severity of the issue, and the language used in the feedback.
Insight list
The Insights tab shows all active insights for your project. You can filter by priority and category. Each insight card shows:
- Title with a colored priority indicator
- Category and priority badges
- Description preview
- Number of linked conversations and reviews
- Last updated timestamp
Insight details
Click on an insight to see the full detail view:
- Full title and description (rendered as Markdown)
- Category and priority
- Linked Conversations — All conversations that relate to this insight, with customer info and status
- Linked Reviews — All app store reviews related to this insight, with star ratings and source info
How insights evolve
Insights use an immutable data model. When AI processes new feedback and updates an insight, a new version is created rather than overwriting the original. This means:
- You can see the complete history of how an insight changed
- You know why it changed (e.g. "linked new conversation about the same bug")
- Nothing is ever lost, even if an insight is deleted
Regenerating insights
If you want to re-analyze all your feedback from scratch, you can regenerate insights from Project Settings → Danger Zone → Regenerate Insights. This deletes all existing insights and re-processes every conversation and review.
